Special jersey design for SKA's 80th anniversary!

6 September 2026

Over the course of eight decades SKA has changed names, emblems and home arenas, but its sincere love for the game and loyalty to the traditions of Leningrad hockey have always remained constant.

Each stage in the develop of ice hockey in our city, from the first games at the open-air stadium on Krestovsky Island to the two Gagarin Cup triumphs, has been vital. 80 years of SKA represent thousands of people who have supported the team, worked with our organisation and played on the ice themselves. It represents dozens of players, coaches and even emblems, each representing a unique segment of the club's history.

The retro jersey design for the club's 80th anniversary combines elements of previous SKA jerseys.

The contrasting shoulders are similar to the ones which were featured on the jerseys from the 1950s, when SKA began seriously challenging at the top of the table. The white-red-white stripes on the elbows appeared in the early 1970s, with SKA winning their maiden bronze medal of the USSR Championship. And the emblem with the star on the chest and the club name is familiar to fans of several generations. SKA first competed with this logo in the 1980s, earning domestic bronze for the second time and then later claiming a third Continental Cup having started using this design again in the 2020s. All of the emblems which SKA have used over the years are notably featured on the jersey design.

Representatives of three different generations were the first to try on the new jersey. Legendary goaltender Stanislav Litovko played for SKA in the 1950s and 60s, forward Danil Aimurzin only transferred to our team this summer and fellow forward Leonid Paramonov, the leader of the 2016 SKA Army team, dreams of one day making his debut for our senior team.

SKA will wear these particular retro jerseys for all matches which are a part of the Cup of the First, a KHL tournament to be contested by Russia's six oldest ice hockey clubs. The competition will conclude on 22 December, the 80th anniversary of Russian hockey.

All Cup of the First games count towards the KHL regular season standings.

Furthermore, a special ribbon will be placed on all jerseys for the upcoming home match against Dynamo Moscow on 7 September in memory of those who tragically lost their lives in the plane crash involving Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in 2011.
