Viktor Tikhonov: "We should be satisfied with our game"

- Why did you get into a fight directly at the beginning of the third period?

- I wanted everyone to start that stanza with a lot of energy.

- Did you have the agreement of the coaching staff?

- No, I myself took this decision. During the second period we had already hit each other at times, and we simply decided to go at each other fully.

- Was there not a danger of injuring your hand again?

- Maybe. In such moments you don't think about that, you are full of emotion. Only afterwards did that come into my head.

- How did yesterday's match go overall?

- The main thing is that we won. We really needed to snap our previous losing streak, and we did it. For almost the whole 60 minutes we played as we should have done. There were a few poor moments, but overall we should be satisfied.

- Do you think that your fight did manage to help the team out?

- I don't know, but as I have already said, the most important thing is that we managed to win. I hope that my fight helped the team out, and if needed I will do it again.

- Are you not surprised with the Russian squad that will take on the Czech Republic in the Euro Hockey Tour?

- No, it happened last year too. It's nothing new. Everyone deserves a chance, and some players will benefit from playing at such a level.
