Steve Moses: "We showed character to pull the win out"

11 January 2016

- This was the third tough match in a row.

- We lost the last game, and we had a tough road trip. This was an important game for us, and we jumped out to a lead. However, we went through a bit of a hard time and we showed character to pull it out.

- Did Medvescak step up their game in the third period?

- You have to give them some credit, they took advantage of some powerplay opportunities. When we have a lead like that, it's important to stay out of the box. We knew that they would want to take some penalties out of us, and we had a lot of powerplays in the second period. I wish it wasn't that close, but like I said it's a big win.

- Why are you doing so well here after not making it in the NHL?

- I don't know. I don't think that any of the people here were watching, they didn't see what happened. Without getting into that, I have confidence in this league and I expect to be the difference maker every game. I try to focus on doing the things I do well, so I'm not really focused on what happened at the beginning of the season. I'm trying to help this team win.

- What do you need to improve on in this home series?

- When we get out to an early lead, we need to do a better job of holding on to it. Since I've been here, we've started games well most of the time and then had a little bit of a low. We need to continue on working on playing sixty minutes, but we like to play home games and hopefully we will get a lot of points.
