SKA - CSKA. Match facts

25 August 2015

It was the first time that SKA had begun the domestic championship so early on. Only once before had our team started the campaign in the summer, as on the 31st of August 1989 SKA defeated Torpedo 3:2.

Andrei Zubarev became SKA's 100th KHL debutant. 11 have been goaltenders, 33 defencemen, and 56 forwards.

Geoff Platt's winning overtime goal for Lokomotiv is the fastest ever marker conceded by SKA in an extra frame in KHL history. The previous record was held by Yegor Shastin of Torpedo, as on the 19th of October 2010 he netted the winning goal 01:04 into the extra five minutes.

With his second period goal, Joakim Lindstrom became the fourth Swede to score on his SKA debut in the KHL. Before him, Mika Hannula, Matthias Weinhandl and Jimmie Ericsson had all hit the target on their respective debuts.

CSKA forward Alexander Radulov now has 39 points (16+23) to his name in matches against SKA. Vadim Epanchintsev (17+22) and Sergei Mozyakin (20+19) are level with him on 39.

Andrei Nazarov's debut match as head coach came with HC Traktor Chelyabinsk on the 4th of September 2007, incidentally against SKA. On that day his team lost 2:3.
