11 January 2023

SKA have now defeated Spartak Moscow in eight consecutive matches, a new club record. The previous record was seven successive wins against these particular opponents in competitive games.

Spartak became the fourth club to concede four defeats to SKA during two KHL regular seasons. Previously, in the 2018/2019 campaign, SKA had also managed to beat Spartak on four occasions in the regular season.

Damir Zhafyarov made his 50th competitive appearance for SKA. So far, the forward has registered 36 (14+22) points. He is the only SKA player to have competed in all of our matches this season so far.

In his fifth game for our senior team, fellow forward Svyatoslav Grebenshchikov scored his first goal for SKA. Furthermore, his marker turned out to be the game-winner. Interestingly, despite having only played in five matches in the KHL for our club, his debut for SKA was witnessed on the 27th of August 2015 against Dinamo Minsk (2:1).

For the first time this season, Dmitrij Jaskin failed to score against Spartak. The forward had netted four goals across our three previous games against the Moscow-based organisation.
