SKA have signed a new contract with Vladislav Podyapolsky

SKA Hockey Club have signed a new contract with Vladislav Podyapolsky. The agreement with the goalkeeper runs until the 30th of April 2025.
Factfile:
Vladislav Podyapolsky was born on 4 June 1995 in Novokuznetsk, Russia. He progressed through the Metallurg Novokuznetsk system, making his KHL debut in August 2015. Vladislav subsequently represented Ak Bars Kazan (2017-2019) and Severstal (2019-2022) in the league. In the 2018/2019 campaign, he was a participant of the KHL All-Star Game. Vladislav was also called up to the Russian Olympic national team in December 2018.
HC SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg:
- We've known Vladislav since he progressed through the Metallurg Novokuznetsk system which has produced several excellent players such as Ilya Sorokin and Kirill Kaprizov. We're happy that Vladislav will continue playing for SKA for the next two years, we want to have two equally strong goalkeepers in our team. In modern ice hockey, goalkeepers play a huge role in a team's victories. We think that this contract signing is a big step forward, we wanted to complete the negotiations before our two remaining matches in 2022 which are huge. With the playoffs in mind, we want to be fully focused on ice hockey.
HC SKA goalkeeper Vladislav Podyapolsky:
- I've found it easy to adapt playing for SKA, all of the players and coaches immediately made me feel at home. It was nice that Roman Rotenberg recently compared me to Emiliano Martinez of Argentina, I really like his character and how he helped his team win the World Cup.
