Ilya Kovalchuk's overtime winner at 60:25 is SKA's fastest extra frame winning goal at home.
Ilya's goal was also his 80th for our club, and it is also his first overtime goal. Overall in Russian championships, Ilya scored in overtime only once: on the 14th of January 2005 when playing for HC Ak Bars Kazan.
It is the first time that SKA have won five overtimes in a row, beating the previous record of four from the 2003/2004 season. Last campaign SKA took five overall overtime wins, but three of them came in the KHL Gagarin Cup playoffs. Also, winning two overtime matches in a row is something new for SKA in the regular championship. That only happened in the playoffs of 1994, 2011 and 2014.
In his 167th SKA appearance, Vadim Shipachyov took his 100th assist. Only Maxim Sushinsky (157), Tony Martensson (145), Patrick Thoresen (127) and Ilya Kovalchuk (109) have more.
Vadim's assists have helped SKA score against 26 different KHL opponents.
Almost a year to the day, Mikko Koskinen debuted for SKA away against HC Dynamo Moscow on the 7th of December 2014. In that following year, he has played in 68 SKA matches - a new club record. Overall he has conceded 133 goals.
Mikko has also played against 27 different KHL opponents, and that's a club record too. He has not played against only HC Medvescak Zagreb.
Anton Burdasov has played in 150 KHL regular season games for SKA, and holds 64 points to his name (27+37).
This was the 50th time that SKA and Neftekhimik have played against each other, and currently our players hold a large advantage (25 victories). However, the goal difference is 126-120 in Neftekhimik's favour.
Just like in the first match between each other, SKA won it in overtime (3:2 on the 7th of September 1995).
