SKA - Metallurg Novokuznetsk. Match day

The fifth game of this home series will take place today against HC Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

Metallurg have not got into the playoffs, for a number of years, and that bad tradition looks set to continue this season. The Siberian outfit find themselves in bottom place of the Eastern Conference with 46 points and only eleven wins from the entire campaign. Nevertheless they have a reputation for producing quality young players for the future, and among their ranks they have plenty of talent. 2016 WJC silver medalist Kirill Kaprizov is their joint top scorer with 26 points (11+15), and goaltender Andrei Kareev has impressed in many matches holding a 90.7% saves percentage. Metallurg are coming off the back of a big 3:2 win over HC Spartak Moscow away, and have already beaten SKA this season 4:3 in Novokuznetsk.

Our players already have points from all four previous games in this home run, and defeated high flyers HC Sibir Novosibirsk 6:2 on Sunday. Vadim Shipachyov tallied four assists in that match, and continues to be the team's top scorer with 50 points (13+37).

The SKA - Metallurg Novokuznetsk match will take place at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 will broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events by following either our matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
