SKA - Lokomotiv. Game three

The third match of the KHL Gagarin Cup first round series against HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl will take place today in Saint Petersburg.

Lokomotiv finished in third place of the Western Conference during the KHL regular season, however they would have been disappointed to be matched up with SKA in the first round. Matches between these two teams have always been very tight, and so far the series has lived up to all expectations. SKA led twice during the first game despite having very few shots on goal, but Lokomotiv took the game to overtime where Jiri Novotny's goal won it. Our players drew motivation from that loss, and came roaring back in the second match. Alexander Barabanov, Sergei Shirokov and Jarno Koskiranta handed SKA an early 3:0 lead, and the team managed to fend off a spirited Lokomotiv fightback to eventually win 3:2.

With the first two matches having been played in Yaroslavl, the next two will now be held in Saint Petersburg. Especially for today's game there will be special t-shirts hung on all seats, and we ask all fans not to arrive to the stadium later than 19.10! A pre-match show will include everyone inside the arena, and together we can create an unbelievable atmosphere!

The SKA - Lokomotiv match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV HD will both broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events either by following our online matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
