SKA - Lokomotiv. Match day

SKA will complete 2016 with a home fixture against HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.

These two teams have already met this campaign, with SKA thrashing their opponents in Yaroslavl 7:1. Nevertheless, Lokomotiv have improved since then, now occupying fourth place in the Western Conference with 75 points. They are coming into this match on promising form too, having beaten Torpedo (3:1) and CSKA Moscow (3:2 SO) in their past two fixtures. First choice goalkeeper Alexei Murygin boasts a 91.9 saves percentage, while Canadian forward Brandon Kozun is their top scorer on 37 points (15+22). One of their main assets is the young Pavel Kraskovsky-Yegor Korshkov-Alexander Polunin line, however the latter is away on Russian junior national team duty at the World Championship.

Our nine game winning streak was snapped by Ak Bars in Kazan, as the team lost to the Tatarstan outfut 3:4 on penalty shots. SKA are still in first place though, holding a three point advantage over closest rivals CSKA. Mikko Koskinen was between SKA's pipes for the whole of that road trip, which included a 4:0 beating of Neftekhimik and a 3:2 overtime victory over Lada.

We ask all attending fans to take their seats no later than 19.15! A special New Year pre-match show is awaiting you. Also, remember that the SKA Hockey City open air ice rink will host a friendly game between SKA's board and veterans at 16.00.

SKA's players will today compete in the special SKA Army jerseys.

The SKA - Lokomotiv match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV will broadcast live, and you can follow events on our official Twitter account.
