SKA - Kunlun Red Star. Match day

SKA will complete this KHL home series with a fixture against HC Kunlun Red Star Beijing.
With Kunlun joining the KHL this season, this will be the first match between these two clubs. Founded only this summer, Kunlun have become China's first ever top ice hockey club, however taking a look at their roster, it becomes apparent how much they rely on their European imports. Rudi Ying, Gunahua Wang, Zach Yuen and Tianxiang Xia are their only Chinese players and neither of them have yet registered a point.
Their top scorer is Finn Max Warn, who has six points to his name (2+4). Having only scored nineteen goals overall, Kunlun are one of the league's lowest scorers, but at the other end, they have a solid goaltending duo. While Tomi Karhunen has only played one game, young Russian goalkeeper Andrei Makarov has put in solid performances taking a 91.7% saves percentage.
After ten games played, Kunlun find themselves in 14th place of the Eastern Conference with a mere 12 points.
On the contrary, SKA have won the past four matches in a row, most recently taking a dramatic 3:2 penalty shootout triumph over Admiral. Mikko Koskinen, Vadim Shipachyov and Evgeny Dadonov, who all played at the World Cup of Hockey, were in the squad for that match.
The SKA - Kunlun Red Star match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV will broadcast live, and you can follow events live on our official Twitter account.
