SKA-Karelia will now form a part of SKA's Academy

Starting from this 2015/2016 season, SKA-Karelia will now take part in the MHL-B championship. The team will form a part of the SKA Academy, and remember that SKA-Varyagi, another club in the academy, also plays in the same MHL-B league. Home games will be played inside the Kondopoga Ice Palace where VHL matches took place last season. Also, a hockey school will begin operation as a part of the SKA Academy project.
SKA General Manager Andrey Tolchitsky:
"In agreement with the board of the Republic of Karelia and the SKA Academy, the decision has been taken to include SKA-Karelia in the MHL-B along with SKA-Varyagi. There are already hockey schools in Karelia (Petrozavodsk and Kondopoga), and at these facilities we will work over the training of young hockey players with the help of local specialists and coaches. New schools in SKA's Academy will help plenty of players to play at a professional level, and will help the development of sport in Karelia. This will also give SKA a new base of young players. Karelia loves hockey, and we're sure that fans will be happy to keep a team which plays at this level. This is a very big project, and we treat it with all seriousness."
