SKA - Yugra. Match day

SKA's final 2015/2016 KHL regular season home match will be played against HC Yugra Khanty Mansiysk.

Our players will be looking to complete the home campaign on a high, however today's opponents will have other ideas. Yugra won their previous match in Saint Petersburg two seasons ago (2:1), and are coming into this match on promising form. Despite long having lost all hope of making the playoffs they have won four of their past five outings, with two of those victories coming against Metallurg Magnitogorsk (4:2) and HC Salavat Yulaev Ufa (5:3). As a result of those triumphs, the KHL's most northern club have risen to 10th place of the Eastern Conference with 72 points. Forward Igor Bortnikov is their top scorer with 33 points (17+16), while number one goaltender Georgy Gelashvili has a saves percentage of 91.3%.

On Wednesday SKA dropped a disappointing 2:3 penalty shootout defeat to Avtomobilist, and that result has left our team in seventh place of the Western Conference. A win will be needed today to keep alive realistic hope of a top four finish.

The SKA - Yugra match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 will broadcast the game live, while you can keep up to date with events by following our online matchcentre or our official Twitter account.
