SKA - Jokerit. Match facts

26 September 2015

It was SKA's 400th KHL match, from which the team has 267 victories. The goal difference is currently 1318-397 in our favour.

This is the first time in Russian championships and the KHL that SKA have netted five goals in the second period. The overall record is seven goals in one frame, and that came on the 4th of December 2011 in a 10:2 home victory over HC Spartak Moscow.

Only once has a KHL opponent scored five against SKA in one period. That was Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on the 12th of December 2010, however between 1996 and 2008 in the Russian championship that occurred on seven occasions. Once on the 25th of September 2005 our players took on Khimik, and after conceding five second period goals the team came back to win 6:5. Ilya Kovalchuk happened to play in that match for Khimik, and he scored two goals while assisting one other marker. Maxim Sokolov, who is now a part of SKA's coaching staff, was the goaltender.

This was Anton Burdasov's first game where he took five points (2+3). Beforehand he had only two games where he racked up three, and this is also the first time when Anton has scored three goals in as many games. He had never gained three assists in one game too.

Anton is also only the fourth SKA player in KHL history to take five points in one game. Igor Makarov and Evgeny Dadonov also did the same when the team scored five goals in one stanza.

Vadim Shipachyov now has 102 points from 114 KHL regular season games (27+75), while Anton has 53 (22+31) from 126 appearances.

Evgeny Dadonov is the first SKA man to score a goal in the final second of the second period in the KHL. That happened only twice in the old Russian championship (Pavel Boychenko in 2003 and Maxim Sushinsky in 2007). Interestingly, on the 7th of September 2008 Evgeny Dadonov scored a goal at 39:39 against SKA for his previous club HC Traktor Chelyabinsk. Traktor's head coach was also then Andrei Nazarov.
