Malte Stromwall scored his first two goals for SKA on his third appearance. In doing so, he became the 11th Swedish forward to score for SKA. Furthermore, just like former SKA forward Joakim Lindstrom, he tallied his maiden marker for our club against goalkeeper Stanislav Galimov.

This is the first time when SKA lost to Dinamo Riga in a penalty shootout in the KHL. Previously, SKA had won all five shootouts against the Latvian organisation.

Before this match, goalkeeper Alexander Samonov had participated in four shootouts for SKA, only conceding three goals from 20 attempts. However, in this game, he let in three goals from just seven Dinamo Riga efforts.

Dinamo Riga forward Denis Parshin has converted four penalty shots in KHL shootouts against SKA, more than anyone else in the league.

Goalkeeper Stanislav Galimov earned his maiden shootout victory against SKA. In the past, he had participated in four shootouts (two for Ak Bars Kazan and two for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod), conceding 10 out of 32 attempts while losing all of them in the process.

Latvian forward Miks Indrasis tallied his ninth goal against SKA in games for Dinamo Riga, with seven of them having been registered at the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace.
