Three new SKA records were all set in just one game yesterday.
It was SKA's 23rd home victory this season, beating the previous record of 22 from the 2011/2012 KHL campaign. The overall KHL record belongs to both Avangard and CSKA Moscow who both claimed 24 home wins, with the latter's record coming this season. CSKA can make it to 26 if they win their other two home matches left.
From 23 of SKA's wins 21 have been in normal time, and that beats the previous best of 20 in the 2012/2013 season.
Our team have now scored 113 goals inside the Ice Palace, and that is also a new record - the old record was 110 from the 2011/2012 regular season. Only Salavat Yulaev have scored more at home in the KHL, as in the 2010/2011 season they hit the net 121 times. Interestingly, Vyacheslav Bykov and Igor Zakharkin were also at the helm of Salavat during that time.
Tony Martensson is now second in the all time SKA goal scoring list in Russian championships and the KHL (1996-2015). Yesterday he notched up his 83rd goal, overtaking Alexey Koznev on 82. Maxim Sushinsky is still in first place, as he has 105 goals to his name.
The last time that SKA beat Dinamo Riga by two goals or more was on the 7th of Janaury 2012, when our team triumphed 4:2 in the Latvian capital. After that there were three 2:1 victories, with another two wins on penalty shots.
SKA have used four different goalkeepers against Dinamo Riga this season, while the Latvians have played Jakub Sedlacek three times.
