Forward Evgeny Ketov became the third player to participate in 500 national championship matches for SKA, following in the footsteps of Igor Shchurkov and Andrei Andreev.

His first appearance for SKA was on 6 September 2013 against Avangard Omsk on the road. Evgeny required eight years, three months and six days to compete in 500 official SKA games.

Defenseman Georgy Solyannikov registered his maiden point for the senior SKA team in his sixth match. Furthermore, this was his first assist in the KHL; previously, when playing for Sochi, he had scored the one league goal.

SKA lost by a score of 1:2 following a penalty shootout for the seventh time in the club's history. Moreover, Dynamo Moscow forward Dmitry Rashevsky became the first player to score the equaliser against SKA and subsequently tally the decisive penalty shot in a game which finished 1:2.

Rashevsky also became the 100th player in the KHL to score a winning penalty shot against SKA.

Alexei Kudashov became the 12th KHL head coach to defeat SKA when managing three different clubs. In the past, he had gained victories against SKA when coaching Atlant Mytishchi and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.
