SKA - Amur. Match day

SKA - Amur. Match day

25 September 2016

Having beaten Ugra 9:4 on Friday, SKA will continue this home streak of matches against HC Amur Khabarovsk.

Today's opponents have made the long trip from Russia's Far East and they will want to put right a poor KHL record against SKA. In 15 league matches, Amur have only won once and that came last season in Saint Petersburg (2:1). Nevertheless, despite not having one of the KHL's strongest squads, they have made a promising start to this campaign and find themselves in seventh place of the Eastern Conference.

Amur are coming off the back of four home victories in a row, as they defeated Kunlun Red Star 3:1, Ak Bars 3:2, Lada 1:0 and Neftekhimik 4:1. Finnish goaltender Juha Metsola has been a huge reason behind their impressive run, taking one shutout and racking up a 95.4 saves percentage.

SKA played two games in a row against Ugra, winning them both 4:2 and 9:4 respectively. Forward Alexander Barabanov has raised many eyebrows, becoming SKA's top scorer so far with nine goals.

The SKA - Amur match will begin at 17.00 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78 and KHL TV HD will broadcast live, while you can follow events on our official Twitter account!
