SKA - Admiral. Match day

The sixth match of this home run will take place for SKA today against HC Admiral Vladivostok.

This is only Admiral's third season in the KHL, however in such a short time they have made themselves one of the league's most awkward opponents to play against. The Vladivostok made the playoffs in their debut campaign, and despite missing out last year they look on course for a return to the post season this campaign. After 53 matches Admiral find themselves in an impressive fifth place of the Eastern Conference, and are pushing for a top four finish. Nevertheless they have dropped their previous three games to HC Spartak Moscow 4:5 SO, Dinamo Riga 2:4 and Jokerit 2:3, and are in serious need of a pick-me-up. Their top scorer is forward Konstantin Makarov with 30 points (15+15), while ex SKA goaltender Ivan Nalimov has four season shutouts along with a 90.9% saves percentage.

SKA have been making the most of this long home stretch, with points being taken from every match so far. The previous game saw the team defeat HC Metallurg Novokuznetsk 4:0 in impressive style, and forward Vadim Shipachyov had his second four point game in a row. Mikko Koskinen made 20 saves to take his third shutout of the year.

The SKA - Admiral match will begin at 19.30 local time inside the Saint Petersburg Ice Palace. Life78, KHL TV HD and Match TV will all broadcast the game live, and you can keep up to date with events either by following our online matchcentre and our official Twitter account.
