Sergei Shirokov: "We'll keep working"

- You had two times more shots on target than your opponents, but lost. Is this a blow?

- No. Sometimes the opponents can have more shots than us, but we win. It was a tough game, and it's a shame that we have lost points. We had chances to score, and played on the powerplay in overtime. We'll keep working.

- How was it playing down the middle for SKA?

- I was there because of Vadim Shipachyov's injured. The coaches decided to put me there. I fell comfortable playing as a centre forward.

- For your assist, did you pass to Nikita Gusev or the onrushing Pavel Buchnevich?

- I made a pass to Nikita, and he left it to roll through to Pavel Buchnevich.

- Must SKA work over their powerplay for the playoffs?

- Of course, special teams decide a lot. Today we conceded two goals on the penalty kill.

- Why did you play like you did in the first period?

- We were given a task of holding the neutral zone and playing compact in our own zone. Afterwards, we began playing more aggressively.

- In the second period, you out-shot your opponents 20-2.

- We had chances, and it's a shame that we only scored one goal. Our play deserved more, but their goaltender was great and we were poor in front of goal. We have a couple more matches to work over this, and we will fix the components which aren't working in order to move into the playoffs in optimal shape.

- Does the score not reflect the game?

- Avtomobilist needed the points too, and they had a great match especially in defence and blocked a lot of pucks. It was a high quality game, and no one wanted to lose. Everyone needs positive results, however we were a bit unlucky. The opponents took advantage of their three penalty shots.
