29 November 2020

SKA claimed their 1600th victory in official matches. It has taken our team 3435 games to reach this landmark, with 1427 wins being earned in the Russian championship (1991-present day) and 507 in the USSR championship (1946-1991).

This was the first time in history when SKA defeated Salavat Yulaev Ufa in a penalty shootout. In total, these two teams have played against each other on 94 occasions, with Salavat having twice previously emerged victorious on penalties in 2007 and 2010.

Defenseman Vasily Tokranov made his 100th competitive SKA appearance. So far, the 31-year-old possesses 44 (13+31) points to his name.

Forward Stepan Starkov, 21, registered his debut for the first SKA team.

Finnish forward Joonas Kemppainen, who used to play for Salavat Yulaev, has tallied at least one point in the last four consecutive games as he scored the equalising goal at the Ufa Arena. He has grabbed three markers and dished out one assist in those four matches.

For the second time in his career, 20-year-old forward Kirill Marchenko scored the winning penalty shot for SKA in the KHL. His first shootout winner had arrived on 3 November 2019 against Dinamo Riga.

Canadian forward Linden Vey is the 20th player to compete in a KHL penalty shootout both for and against SKA.

Daniil Tarasov became the fourth goalkeeper in the Russian championship to follow in his father's footsteps and play against SKA. Vadim Tarasov, his dad, competed in matches against SKA for Metallurg Novokuznetsk and Salavat Yulaev. Furthermore, they are the first father-son duo to both participate in a shootout against SKA; Vadim Tarasov defeated our team on penalties with Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

The first three father-son partnerships to play against SKA were Andrei Vasilevskiy senior and Andrei Vasilevskiy junior, Valeri Ivannikov and Evgeny Ivannikov and Vladimir Tikhomirov and Andrei Tikhomirov.
