Avtomobilist - SKA. Before the match

Today, at 17.00 Moscow time, SKA will compete against Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg on the road in the 2021/2022 KHL regular season.
This will be the second meeting between these two teams during the current campaign. At the start of the season, Avtomobilist managed to earn a 4:2 victory against SKA at the Saint Petersburg, with the Ural-based organisation having initially opened up a three-goal lead. Subsequent goals from Fredrik Handemark and Anton Burdasov weren't enough to save SKA from defeat.
Avtomobilist recently replaced Bill Peters as their head coach with Nikolai Zavarukhin. To his credit, Zavarukhin has made a positive start to life with his new employers, steering his team to two consecutive wins against Spartak Moscow (3:1) and Admiral Vladivostok (2:1) on home ice. Avtomobilist currently occupy seventh spot of the Eastern Conference with 37 points on the board.
SKA are coming off the back of two successive home triumphs over Dinamo Minsk (2:1) and Jokerit Helsinki (3:1). As it stands, our players are fifth in the Western Conference with 47 points, but they're only three behind leaders Dynamo Moscow with a game in hand.
KHL PRIME and Channel 78 (Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region only) will provide a television broadcast in Russia, whereas you can watch a live video worldwide on the KHL's official website. Text updates will be available on our Twitter account.
