Harijs Vitolins speaks before playing Spartak Moscow

16 January 2018

- When the KHL All-Star Weekend was going on, what did the team do?

- The players only had one day off. There were training sessions both on and off the ice. Everyone knows that there are only a few games left before the Olympic break.

- Did the players which competed at the All-Star Game get an extra rest?

- They also had one day off, while competing in Astana in a relaxed atmosphere. It was more serious for those who stayed here.

- This will be the fourth match against Spartak Moscow this season, but SKA haven't beaten these opponents in Saint Petersburg yet.

- We want to win, all of us know that there are no weak opponents. We need to play our style of game and score our chances which will come. The team have to be 100% ready.

- Spartak Moscow are fighting for a KHL playoff spot. Does this make them even more dangerous?

- Yes, I think so. They need points in every match, no matter who the opponents are. Spartak will have big matches against Dynamo Moscow too. At the moment, Spartak are a more dangerous team than before. For all teams which are fighting for a place in the Gagarin Cup, the playoffs have already started. Everything will depend on our focus and if we score on our opportunities.

- Who will be the goaltender?

- Mikko Koskinen.

- Yegor Yakovlev wasn't training with those who will play today. Why?

- All of our defensemen are back, we need squad rotation. We will change them in the next four matches. As you can see, Patrik Hersley won't play either.
