Dynamo Moscow - SKA. Match facts

This was the ninth occasion when SKA started a domestic campaign with a match against Dynamo Moscow. However, this marked the maiden occasion when our team managed to win. Previously, SKA had recorded two draws and six defeats in season-openers against Dynamo.

Goalkeeper Johan Mattsson, defensemen Sergei Sapego, Artyom Sergeev and Maxim Fedotov and forwards Vladimir Alistrov, Alex Galchenyuk (0+1), Pavel Dedunov, Ivan Zinchenko, Brendan Leipsic, Sergei Tolchinsky (1+1) and Ilya Fedotov all made their competitive debuts for SKA. 11 debutants in one KHL game is a new record for SKA.

Tolchinsky now boasts 200 (73+127) points from 281 KHL appearances. Before joining SKA, he had represented CSKA Moscow and Avangard Omsk in the league.

Interestingly, in the past, the fathers of Galchenyuk and the Fedotov brothers had both played for SKA. Alexander Galchenyuk senior competed as a SKA player in the 2002/2003 season (26 matches), after Sergei Fedotov had played for our club in the 1990/2000 campaign (44 games).
