Alexander Barabanov: "We stuck to the game plan"

Alexander Barabanov: "We stuck to the game plan"

27 February 2016

- How hard is it to show your best hockey when you know how much of a high price mistakes have?

- It was a tough and physical match, no one wanted to lose. It's good that we played in order to keep the winning scoreline - we defended well, scored a goal and won.

- Is such a close 1:0 victory more important than other wins?

- Any victory is important. However, it's nice that Mikko got the shutout. We need to forget this match, and make the final step in this series.

- Is there a desire to finish the series in Yaroslavl?

- Of course, that's not a question.

- This is Mikko Koskinen's second shutout in a row. Can we say that he is playing like he did last year?

- He's doing a good job, and I'm really happy for him. We hope that things will continue in the same vein.

- Was this a perfect match for SKA?

- We stuck to the coach's game plan, that's the main thing.

- What was the game plan?

- To play solidly in defence, and get to the rebounds of our own shots.

- After SKA scored, Lokomotiv pressured your team. Were you ready for that?

- Yes, of course. If the opponents are attacking, we need to defend.
