66 years since the birth of Nikolai Drozdetsky

Exactly 66 years ago, on the 14th of June 1957, Olympic champion and honoured USSR Master of Sport Nikolai Drozdetsky was born.

He is rightly regarded as one of the most talented players to emerge through the SKA system. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 38 on the 25th of November 1995.

He subsequently moved to Moscow after impressing in the 1970s. With the national team, Nikolai won the Olympic Games once and the World Championship twice, before he later returned to SKA and helped our team claimed bronze of the USSR championship.

He will always be remembered.
