Special teams the difference in Vladivostok

Wednesday morning wasn't exactly one to remember for SKA, with our team suffering a damaging 0:4 away loss at Admiral Vladivostok.
Despite unleashing a grand total of 84 shots in comparison to Admiral's 37, our players couldn't find a way through and were undone by two goals conceded shorthanded.
Yegor Chezganov scored what turned out to be the game-winner in the ninth minute of play, turning home on the man advantage when alone on the right circle.
Our task then became even tougher at the start of the second stanza.
A poor defensive mistake was punished to the maximum by Ivan Yanchenko, who whipped the puck beyond the slightly out-of-position Artemiy Pleshkov.
Beginning to force the issue, SKA did then begin to create some promising openings. However, after wasting a handful of good chances, another penalty resulted in Daniel Usmanov beating Pleshkov at the second attempt at close range.
The final nail in the coffin was applied with seven minutes remaining in regulation time.
And it arrived in somewhat strange circumstances.
With Pleshkov on the bench for the extra skater during another powerplay, SKA tried to put together a passing play inside the attacking zone, but the puck took a wicked ricochet off the boards and rolled into our unguarded net - a goal which was credited to Admiral goalkeeper Nikita Boyarkin.
SKA will now prepare to face Amur in Khabarovsk on Friday. Puck-drop is scheduled for 12:00 Moscow time.
