SKA have now achieved 100 victories in the KHL by a difference of five or more goals. 56 have been tallied on home ice, with the remaining 44 having been gained on the road. 85 were registered in the regular season and 15 in the Gagarin Cup playoffs.
Never before had SKA scored two shorthanded goals during one single penalty kill.
Forward Matvei Korotky netted his maiden KHL hat-trick at the age of 19 years, 10 months and 1 day. Matvei consequently became the third player under the age of 20 to score a hat-trick for our senior team, following in the footsteps of Ivan Demidov (19 years, 1 month, 18 days) and Sergei Solodukhin (19 years, 5 months, 1 day).
Incidentally, this was Matvei's 50th appearance for the senior SKA team. To date, he has recorded 22 (13+9) points.
Fellow forward Rocco Grimaldi scored SKA's 20th penalty shot in a KHL game from 67 attempts. Rocco did indeed become the 16th player to convert a penalty shot for SKA in the league.
20-year-old forward Nikita Nedopyokin dished out his first assist for SKA in the KHL. It took him six matches to pick up his maiden point.
