Andrei Razin speaks after beating Amur on the road

HC SKA head coach Andrei Razin:
"This is always a tough trip for everyone in this league. We were dreadful at the start, turning over the puck regularly and giving Amur too many opportunities; we're fortunate that they didn't run away with it in the first period. Nonetheless, we took the initiative in the second stanza and played well in the third."
What was positive in the third period...
"We barely allowed Khabarovsk to organise positional attacks in our zone. Furthermore, we moved through the neutral zone well without losing possession, eventually scoring a good goal on the crease."
Reasons behind poor opening frame...
"It's down to the fact that we're introducing new plays to the guys. Overall, we can compare the situation to when you reboot your computer. The process is slow; they don't always remember where to skate and when. Unfortunately, we pressed the 'delete' button in the first five minutes in terms of our new schemes and ended up turning the puck over 11 times. That statistic will be difficult to repeat!"
New playing system being introduced...
"Our defensemen need to be capable of making good first passes. In order for the players to know what to expect, we want them to get used to playing with each other in their respective lines. We're playing differently in defence, the neutral zone and attack. The guys' heads are exploding due to the huge load of information!"
Team movement...
"Our movement was good against Vladivostok as well, but our penalties let us down. When you're 0:3 down, your emotions disappear. Today, we got through to the guys after the first period with their movement subsequently improving."
Yuri Zhuravlyov's performance...
"Vladimir Vorobyov, our future powerplay coach, knows him well from their time together in Yekaterinburg. We saw him peform in the VHL last week, and we consequently decided to bring him up to our KHL team. Yuri is good at skating along the blue line and finding shooting lanes, whereas Andrei Pedan and Nikita Zaitsev are better at breaking up plays. We can see how our players are progressing."
